Lucy McMonigle, Curly Hair Specialist

Hi everyone!  My name is Lucy, and I'm a curly hair specialist!  I’ve been working primarily with curly and wavy hair for the last 12 years of my career as a hairstylist.  I got my start at one of the highest rated curly salons in the state, Jo Bruno Hair!  I'm a curly girl myself, and I love having the opportunity to connect with fellow curly girls and guys on our shared experiences with having curly hair. 

As an interracially adopted Dominican kid in a predominately white town, getting picked on for my hair wasn’t an unusual occurrence.  Like a lot of curly kids growing up, I hid my hair in buns and used flat irons every week to feel more comfortable with my appearance.  Once I decided I wanted to be a hairstylist, I immediately gravitated towards dry cutting and curly hair.  I honed my craft by studying at the DevaCurl Academy in NYC, listening to hundreds of clients' concerns and experiences with curly hair, and continuing my education with companies like Ouidad, Lanza, and Innersense.  

My personal beauty philosophy is Mother Nature made you beautiful the way you are!  My approach to hairstyling is to bring out your hair's natural pattern to showcase what makes you unique.  I utilize custom dry cuts, specialized color techniques exclusively for curls, and effortless styling for a beautiful look that's easy to maintain.
